Kalakand

Kalakand is a famous Indian sweet which is prepared from solidified and sweetend milk.The freshness of this sweet is felt when it is prepared at home.Let's start the recipe of it !!!

Ingredients :


Milk - 2 cups
Lemon juice or vinegar - 1spoon
Evaporated Milk - 3/4 cup
Cardamom powder - 1/4spoon
Almonds - As per needed

Procedure : 


Preparing Solidified Milk (Paneer) :


Heat the milk in a pan.Once the milk is 80 percent heated add vinegar/lemon juice slowly  and stir the milk well.Now drain the whey and keep the curds aside.Now dump the curds out onto the cloth, close the cloth and squeeze the whey out.Now wash the curds (paneer) with cool water and keep it aside.
Now crush the paneer and keep it aside.Heat the pan, add crushed paneer, evaporated milk, cardamom powder.Keep stirring constantly until thick paste is seen.Now take a bowl, spread the ghee to all sides of the bowl and spread the mixture evenly.Keep aside until it cools down.Finally cut into any shape and garnish it with almonds.

Yummy and fresh Kalakand is ready to eat.

Idly Dhokla

 Dhokla can be eaten for breakfast, as a main course, as a side dish, or as a snack. It is Gujarati dish can be prepared at home with in 20 min. So this can be made with fermented batter. So i thought it to make with Idly batter in a South Indian style. Generally Idly Dhokla is also same as Dhokla but prepared using left over Idly batter. Many of us get tired of eating idly's for 2-3 days, but why not you try this recipe other than Idly. Which is easy to make and is very tasty. We can have the Gujarati food in a South Indian Style. Let start with Ingredients .


Ingredients :

For Batter :

Idly Batter -  1 Cup
Soda - pinch ( As the batter is already fermented we use very less Soda)
Salt - As per taste
Sugar - 1/2 spoon
Ginger green chilly paste - 1 spoon
Lemon - 1 1/2 spoons
Oil - 1 spoon

To Temper -

Oil - 3 spoons
Mustard Seeds - 1 spoon
Sesame Seeds - 2 spoons
Green chilies- 2
Coriander Leaves - As per taste
Asafoetida - Pinch

Procedure :

Mix all the batter ingredients in a bowl. Now take a small bowl and grease it with all till the oil is evenly spread. Now pour the prepared batter in to the bowl and steam it in rice cooker for 12- 15 minutes.After 10-12 minutes, insert a knife or toothpick into dhokla and check if it comes out clean. If it does, then it is ready otherwise cook 2-3 minutes more.Takeout plates from steamer and let them cool for few minutes.Now make the bowl upside down on to plate so that it comes out neatly.
Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a small pan or tempering pan. Add mustard seeds and asafoetida. When seeds begin to crackle, add sesame seeds, green chillies, saute them for few seconds,
pour it over Idly Dhokla  and toss gently until each dhokla is coated well with tempering. Garnish with Coriander leaves.Now cut the  fluffy Idly Dhokla into small squares using knife. Serve hot with Green chutney.

Cabbage Peas Curry

Cabbage is a great vegetable which helps in reducing the cholesterol. Among many recipes which are prepared from cabbage, Cabbage Peas Curry is one of them, that can be prepared easily.

Ingredients :


Chopped Cabbage - 1cup
Green peas - 1/4 cup
Green chillies - 4
Garlic paste - 1/2 spoon
Grated coconut - 1/4 spoon
Coriander powder - 1/4 spoon
Salt - As per needed
Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup

Temper :

Oil - 2spoons
Cumin seeds - 1/4 spoon
Mustard seeds -1/4spoon
Dry red chillies -1
Curry leaves - 2-3

Procedure : 


Heat oil in a pan and temper it.Now add garlic paste, green chillies and fry them for 1-2min. Add cabbage, grated coconut, coriander powder, salt and stir the mixture well.Add 5-6 spoons of water and close the lid of the pan until the cabbage is cooked.Finally garnish with coriander, once cabbage is cooked.

Tasty Cabbage Peas Curry is ready to eat.

Navaratan Dosa

Navaratan Dosa is combination of 9 types of grains which are very healthy. This is combinations of minerals, proteins, fiber and vitamins.  This can be made very easily just by soaking the grains overnight and grind them in to fine batter . We have very less varieties of foods which have the combination of all the grains and have tons of  wellness. So lets see the ingredients.





Ingredients :

Brown Rice - 1/4 cup
White Rice - 3 spoons
Green Gram - 3 spoons
Quiona  -  3 spoons
Chana Dal - 3 spoons
Oats - 3 spoons
Rajma - 3 spoons
Millets - 3 spoons
Urad Dal - 3 spoons
Green Chilies - 2
Ginger chopped - 1 spoon
Salt - As per taste


Procedure :

Soak all the above grains overnight except oats.
Wash them and grind them in to fine dosa batter by adding oats, water,salt, green chilies and ginger.
Heat the pan and add some oil to the pan  and pour the batter on the pan, make them just like dosa's. Add some onions on dosa and wait till the dosa gets roasted. Now take out the dosa, and serve it with coconut chutney.

If you dont like adding the white rice you can add only brown rice for making it more healthy.
Any other grains can also be added .

Dondakaya ( Tindora ) Curry

One of the most widely consumed vegetable through out the year is Tindora. Many delicious stuffed curries, salads and stir fries are prepared by using tindora. So here comes the simple and easyDondakaya ( Tindora ) curry recipe.

Ingredients :


Tindora chopped - 1cup
Onion chopped - 1 (medium size)
Ground nut powder - 1/2 spoon
Gram flour/basin - 1spoon
Red chilli powder - As per needed
Salt - As per needed
Turmeric - A pinch

Temper :

Oil - 2spoons
Mustard seeds - 1/4 spoon
Cumin seeds - 1/4 spoon
Dry red chillies -2
Curry leaves - 2-3

Procedure : 


Heat oil in a pan and temper it.Now add onions and cook it for 2-3 min.Add chopped tindora and close the pan with the lid until they are cooked. Once they are cooked, add peanut powder, salt, red chilli powder and mix it well. Finally add gram flour and cook it for 2-3 min.

Easy Dondakaya ( Tindora ) curry is ready to eat.

Sweet Corn Fry

Sweet corn is the common vegetable which is found in many places.There are many health benefits by eating sweet corn. Sweet Corn Fry is one of the tasty recipe. Let's see how it is prepared.

Ingredients :


Sweet corn - 2 cups
Tomato chopped - 1
Green chillies chopped - 4
Ginger chopped - 1/2 spoon
Coriander powder- 1/2 spoon
Chat masala - 1/2 spoon
Chopped coriander - 1/4 cup
Lemon juice - 2spoons
Cumin seeds - 1/4 spoon
Oil -1 spoon

Procedure : 


Heat oil in a pan.Add cumin seeds, ginger, chillies, tomatoes and cook it for 3-4 min.Now add corn, coriander powder, chat masala and fry it for 3-4 min.
Finally garnish it with coriander.Add lemon juice before serving.

Yummy sweet corn fry is ready to eat.

Bread Rolls In Appe Pan

Bread rolls stuffed with spicy potatoes are famous Indian street food loved by all age groups. They are crunchy from outside and soft and spicy from inside. Bread rolls are prepared with bread, stuffed with spicy mashed potatoes and then deep fried. But now i am making these in a healthy version by not by deep frying them. These bread roll are served with sweet tomato sauce or dhania chutney (coriander chutney) When it is dark dull raining and cold outside the stuffed hot bread roll with sweet sauce. Bread rolls are great as an appetizer or finger food for any type of gathering .

Ingredients :

Potatoes, boiled  - 2
Bread Slices - 5Onion, chopped - 1
Green chilies  - 3
Coriander powder - 1 spoon

Cumin Powder - 1 spoonOil  -  as  required
Salt  - as per taste
Coriander Leaves - Hand full

Procedure :

Boil the potatoes, let them cool down then peel and mash them or grate them to make a smooth mash.
Take oil in a pan and temper it. Now add onions and Green Chilies , fry them. Now add potatoes, coriander & cumin powder, coriander leaves and finally salt and mix well. Close the lid for 5 min and witch off the flame. Now let this mixture cool down.
Meanwhile take bread and dip the bread in water and squeeze the water. Now stuff the potato curry in the bread and make balls and put a side. 
Now take the Appe pan , add some oil in each portion and place the balls in to it. wait untill they turn brown one side and turn to other side.
Finally the bread rolls in Appe Pan is ready to eat with sauce.

Aloo Tomato Curry

The most common combination in vegetables is Aloo and Tomato.This combination is loved by many people.So here comes the Aloo Tomato curry recipe !!!!

Ingredients :


Aloo - 1 (Boiled, Peeled and chopped)
Tomato - 1 (chopped)
Onion - 1 (medium size )
Coriander powder - 1/2 spoon
Red chilli powder - As per needed
Green chillies - 2
Mint leaves - 1/4 cup
Coriander leaves - 1/2cup
Cloves - 2
Salt - As per needed

Temper :

Oil - 2 spoons
Mustard seeds - 1/2 spoon
Cumin seeds - 1/4 spoon
Curry leaves - 3-4

Procedure : 


Heat oil in a pan and temper it.Add cloves,green chillies and onions.Let it cook for 3-4min.Now add tomatoes and cook it for 7-8 min. Add boiled potatoes and cook it for 5-6min.When the mixture is fully cooked add coriander powder, red chilli powder, salt and mint leaves.Finally garnish with coriander leaves.

Simple Aloo Tomato curry is ready to eat.

Sorakaya Punugulu

Sorakaya punugulu is one of the easy recipe which can be prepared in very less time.So here comes the recipe for it !!!

Ingredients :


Grated Bottle gourd - 3/4 cup
Rice flour - 1 cup
Chana dal - 2 spoons
Green chilli paste - 2 spoons
Onions chopped - 1/2 cup
Curry leaves - 3-4
Cumin seeds - 1/2 spoon
Coriander - 1/2cup
Spring onions - 2spoons
Salt - As per needed
Oil - As per needed

Procedure : 


In a bowl, add chana dal, grated bottle gourd, onions, chilli paste, curry leaves, cumin seeds, coriander, spring onions, salt and rice flour. Mix it well and make the mixture into a round balls.
In a pan heat oil and deep fry the balls

Masala Kichidi

Kichidi is the famous South Asian recipe. Kichidi is nutritious food as it contains many vegetables.If you are looking for spicy and nutritious recipe Masala kichidi is best recipe.

Ingredients :


Rice - 3/4 cup
Moong dal - 1/4 cup
Chopped Onion - 1
Chopped Tomato - 1
Cauliflower - 1/2 cup
Chopped carrots - 1 (medium size)
Chopped potato - 1
Spring onions - 1/4 cup
Spinach - 1/2 cup
Green peas - 1/4 cup
Sprouts - 1/4 cup
Red chillies - 2
Garam masala - 3/4 spoon
Chopped Coriander - 1/2 cup
Salt - As per needed
Turmeric - 1/4 spoon
Cumin seeds - 1/4 cup
Bay leaf - 1
Cloves - 2
Oil - 2 spoons

Procedure : 


In a cooker, add rice, dal, 2 cups of water, turmeric and pressure cook it for 4 whistles.
Heat oil in a pan.Add cumin seeds, red chillies, bay leaf, cloves, onions and cook it for 2-3 min.First add tomatoes and later on add all the remaining vegetables and cook until the vegetables are completely cooked.Now add garam masala, cooked rice and dal.Stir well until the masala is coated c
Eqaully.Just add 1/2 cup of water and cook it for 3-4min.Finally garnish it with coriander and spring onions.

Tasty Masala kichidi is ready to eat.

Veg Manchurian

Veg Manchurian is one of the famous and tasty Indo Chinese starter.
Indo Chinese recipe is prepared with the combination of Chinese seasoning  and Indian way of cooking.So here is the one of the most famous Indo Chinese recipe.

Ingredients :


For Balls :

Chopped cabbage - 1 cup
Grated carrot - 1/8 cup
Spring onions - 1 spoon
Corn flour - 1 spoon
All purpose flour - 1 spoon
Chopped garlic - 1 spoon
Chopped green chilles - 1/2 spoon
Salt - As per needed
Oil - As per needed

For sause :

Chopped garlic - 1 spoon
Chopped green chilles - 1 spoon
Chopped ginger - 1/2 spoon
Soy sause - 1/2 spoon
Corn flour - 1spoon dissolved in 1 cup of water
Sugar - 1 pinch
Oil - 1spoon
Salt - As per needed

Procedure : 


Preparing Balls :

Mix together all the ingredients and shape the mixture into small balls. Deep fry the balls until they turn into golden brown color.

Preparing Sause :

Heat oil in a pan over a high flame. Add garlic, green chillies, ginger and stir fry for few seconds. Add soya sause, corn flour mixture, sugar, salt and simmer  for few minutes.

Finally put the balls in the sause and bring to a boil.

Tasty Veg Manchurian is ready to eat.

Methi Thepla

Methi is rich in proteins, fiber, iron and vitamin C.It also reduces cholesterol. We can prepare many tasty recipes with these healthy leaves.
Methi Thepla is one of the famous Gujarati recipe.It takes very less time to prepare. So here is the recipe !!!

Ingredients : 


Whole wheat flour ( Chapati atta) - 1.5 Cup
Red Chilli powder - 1 spoon
Coriander powder - 1.5 spoon
Cumin powder - 1 spoon
Turmeric - 1/4 spoon
Carom seeds - 1/2 spoon
Salt - As per needed
Fenugreek leaves ( washed and chopped )  - 3/4 cup
Green chillies chopped - 2
Ginger paste - 1 spoon
Oil - As per needed

Procedure :


In a bowl add atta, red chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder, carom seeds, salt, green chillies, ginger paste, methi leaves and oil.Make the mixture into a semi soft dough and keep it aside for 15min. After 15min, make the dough into small balls and knead them like rotis.
Heat the oil on tawa. Finally place the thepla and fry it on both sides.

Serve them hot with curd or mango pickle.

Paneer Butter Masala

Either in a North Indian or South Indian restaurant the most famous gravy found is Paneer Butter Masala. This is one of the easiest recipe which can be prepared at home. So here is the recipe !!!

Ingredients :


Paneer - 400 gm
Onion paste - 3/4 cup (blanched and pureed)
Tomato puree - 1 cup (blanched and pureed)
Cashews paste - 4 spoon
Cream - 2 spoon
Ginger paste - 1 spoon
Garlic paste - 1 spoon
Butter - 4 spoons
Oil - 1 spoon
Kasuri methi - 2 spoons
Salt - As per needed
Sugar - As per needed
Cardamom - 3
Cloves - 6
Cinnamon - 2
Bay leaves - 2
Oil - 1 spoon
Turmeric powder - 1/2 spoon
Red Chilli powder - 2 spoons
Coriander powder - 2 spoons
Garam masala - 1/2 spoon


Procedure : 


Heat oil in a pan.Fry paneer pieces till they become golden brown in color. Soak the pieces in warm water till they become soft.
Heat butter and oil in a pan. Add whole garam masalas, boiled onion paste, ginger garlic paste. Saute it for 1-2min until raw smell goes out. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder,  coriander powder, garam masala powder and cook them for 2 min.Add salt, sugar, tomato paste and cook it for 5-6 min.Add cream, kasuri methi and stir well.
Now add soaked paneer pieces and close the lid for 2-3min.Finally add chopped coriander and garnish it with cream and butter.

Tasty Paneer Butter Masala  is ready to eat.

Goes well with rice and roti.

Carrot Halwa

Having dessert after food makes you very happy !!!
Among many desserts, Carrot Halwa is one of them, which is very yummy and delicious sweet.
Carrot Halwa is the most famous sweet, served all over India. So here comes the recipe for it.

Ingredients : 


Grated carrot - 1 cup
Milk - 1 cup
Sugar - 1/4 cup
Koya - 1 spoon
Cashews - 1 spoon
Almonds - 1 spoon
Raisins - 1 spoon
Ghee - 2 spoons

Procedure : 


Heat the ghee in a pan.Add cashews, almonds, raisins and fry them for 1 min.Now add carrot and immediately add milk.Make sure to cook until the milk is evaporated and carrots are completely cooked.Now add koya and cook it for few more minutes.Finally add sugar and cook for few minutes in a low flame.

Tasty Carrot Halwa is ready to eat.

Cauliflower Matar Makhani

Makhani is the famous North Indian gravy.Tasty recipes can be prepared  by adding any vegetable to makhani. So here comes one of the most delicious Cauliflower Matar Makhani recipe.

Ingredients :


Onion - 1
Tomato - 2
Cauliflower - 3/4 cup
Green peas - 1/4 cup
Cashews - 1/4 cup
Red chillies - 4
Green chillies - 2
Ginger garlic paste - 3/4 spoon
Garam masala - 3/4 spoon
Corn flour - 1 spoon
All purpose flour - 3/4 spoon
Coriander powder - 1/2 spoon
Cumin powder - 1/2 spoon
Black pepper powder - 1/2 spoon
Kasuri methi - 1 spoon
Salt - As per needed
Butter - 1/2 cup
Cream - 2 spoons

Procedure : 


First of all, boil the cauliflower pieces for 20min and drain them.

Preparing Makhani : 

In a pressure cooker add butter, onions and Cashews and cook for 2min.Now add ginger garlic paste and cooker for 3-4min. Now add tomatoes, close the cooker and cook it for 4-5 whistles. In a grinder grind the cooked stuff and make it into a smooth paste.

Now in a bowl, prepare a batter by using corn flour, all purpose flour, cumin  powder, pepper powder, coriander powder and salt.Dip the boiled cauliflower pieces in the batter and fry/bake till pieces turn into golden color.

Heat the pan add the makhani gravy, butter, kasuri methi, garam masala,  salt and cook it for 3-4min. Now add green peas, fried cauliflower and cook if for 5-6 min.Finally add cream for more taste !!!!

Delicious Cauliflower Matar Makhani  is ready to eat.

Aloo Bhath

Aloo is family favorite vegetable.There are lot many recipes that can be prepared with Aloo.
Aloo Bhath is one of the most delicious recipe. It takes very less time to prepare. So lets start !!!!


Ingredients :


Cooked rice - 1 cup
Green Chillies - 4
Green peas - 2 spoons
Chopped Potatoes - 1/2 cup
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1/2 spoon
Garam masala - 1/2 spoon
Turmeric - 1/4 spoon
Salt - As per Taste
Chopped coriander - 1/4 cup
Curry leaves - 2-3
Oil - 2 spoons
Ghee - 1 spoon


Procedure : 


First of all, deep fry the chopped potatoes and keep them aside.

Heat the oil and ghee in a pan.Add green chillies, curry leaves, ginger garlic paste, turmeric and cook it for 3-4min.Now add green peas and fried potatoes into the mixture and cook it for 3-4 min.Add cooked rice, garam masala, salt and stir the mixture well.Finally add the chopped coriander.

Tasty Aloo Bhath is ready to eat.
