Moong Dal Halwa is a popular and rich halwa recipe from North India.Moong Dal Halwa is usually made on celebratory or festive occasions like Holi, Diwali, marriages etc.
I would suggest to use non stick pan or kadai to make this moong dal halwa.
Ingredients :
Split yellow Moong dal - 3/4 cup
Sugar - 3/4
Water - 3/4
Ghee - 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder - 2 spoons
Fried cashew and badam - 2 spoons
Kesar - 2 pods
Sugar - 3/4
Water - 3/4
Ghee - 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder - 2 spoons
Fried cashew and badam - 2 spoons
Kesar - 2 pods
Procedure :
Roast moong dal till it turns to golden brown.Grind it in to powder and keep a side.
Now mix water and sugar in a vessel and keep on stove top. Stir continously until the sugar is dissolved and switch off the flame.
Take non stick pan add ghee. Now add the moong dal powder and fry until the nice aroma comes out, add cardamom powder to it and stir continously. Now add ghee sugar water to it and cook on low flame for 15-20 min till the ghee oozes out.Don't allow the mixture to stick to the pan.Add kesar to it and stir again . Lastly add dry fruits and serve hot

Tastes yummy if it is served hot..
If you wish you can prepare directly with out roasting moong dal , this comes in light yellow color. I just tried by roasting moongdal, which came out yummy ..
