Aloo Palak

Spinach is one of famous leafy vegetable in many countries. Having leafy vegetable twice or thrice in a week is very good for health. Spinach is rich source for vitamins and anti oxidants.
Aloo Palak, which goes well with rotis and naans is very easy to prepare . Let's start preparing it !!!!

Ingredients :


Spinach - 2 cups
Potato - 1 (Boiled and peeled)
Onion chopped - 1
Tomato chopped - 1
Green chillies - 2-3
Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 spoon
Dhaniya powder - 1/4 spoon
Garam masala - 1 spoon
Salt - As per needed
Bay leaf - 2
Cloves - 2
Cinnamon - 2
Turmeric - 1/4 spoon
Kasuri methi - 1/2 spoon
Cumin seeds - 1/4 spoon
Oil - 3-4 spoons
Ghee - 1-2 spoon

Procedure : 


Blanching Spinach :

In a bowl, boil 2 cups of water by adding salt.Switch off stove and add spinach,  blanch them in water for 3-4 min.Drain them and soak in cool water for 1-2 min.Again drain the spinach and keep it aside.Now make a smooth puree of spinach, green chillies and keep it aside.

Heat the oil and ghee in a pan.Add cumin seeds, bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves. Add onions, ginger garlic paste and cook until the raw smell goes away.Add tomatoes and cook until they become soft.Now add spinach puree, 1/2 cup water and cook until the oil oozes out. Add garam masala, kasuri methi, salt.Finally add boiled potato and cook it for 3-4 min.

Tasty and spicy Aloo Palak is ready to eat.
